Why did London become the Capital of England?

It’s a fun story! to me at least. I’m cool that way.
Technically “London” didn’t become the capital until after the 16th Century. What we now call “the City of London”, the ancient square mile that Rome founded, was an entity of its own. and in many ways still is. It was a centre of power and money, even before the Norman Conquest.
Up through the Middle Ages there was no fixed “capital” per se. The Kings didn’t stay put, they moved around, so the capital was essentially where they were, not necessarily where the government was. The government being those ministers of the king who administered (get it?) the day to day workings.
During the reign of the Wessex kings, Winchester was the closest thing to English capital.
So, back to London. The king had no real power over London. Edward the Confessor, who was technically of the Wessex blood line but spent his formative years across the Channel and didn’t really have a sentimental attachment to Winchester, built an abbey in Westminster, whisch was west of London. He also built a palace for the seat of government. With these he hoped to draw power and wealth from that citadel to east protected by a massive wall.
Edward died in January 1066. In October, Duke William of Normandy arrived to take what he felt was his by right. After the Battle of Hastings he headed toward London, mind you. Toward it. He circled round, burning his way around it. But he knew he couldn’t breach the wall. He made a deal with the London peeps that in exchange for recognising him as their king, they would retain their special privileges. This arrangement has been in place ever since.
Now, thanks to Edward the Confessor, there was a ready-made power base just to the west of London. Willian was duly crowned king in Westminster Abbey. Over time, the Treasury was moved from Winchester, which became that historic city with one train station (London now has over 600 train and underground stations). Meanwhile, houses were built between the cities of Westminster and London and a Greater London was formed, eventually swallowing up towns and villages in a 600 square mile area.
Note, though, that the City of London has no national government facilites in it, save the Bank of England, which is separate. Government (Parliament, Whitehall, Downing Street, etc…), the Palace, the national entities are in Westminster, but as that is in what became the megapolis of “London”, London is the capital.

ChatGPT a sido el modelo de open IA , Open IA ácido adquirida por Microsoft, Microsoft tiene el modelo de open IA que es ChatGPT ahora es el más importante que hay en el mercado, ahora mismo el más potente.
Googlee no se está no se está quedando atrás tiene un modelo de Gemini que dependiendo de lo que quieres hacer puede ser muy útil.
Amazon tiene el modelo de Claude creada por ant-ropy Amazon compró la empresa de ant-ropy que a creado el modelo de Claude, lo curioso es que el trabajo de ant-ropy es un antiguo trabajador de Open IA, tuvieron discrepancias la forma de construir el modelo así que decidió montarse su propia empresa.
Facebook con Lama, la principal diferencia que destacaría Lama y que puede ser útil durante el programa es que es pública, las otras son privadas tienes que pagar para utilizarlo, cuando hablamos del Lama es un modelo que te puedes descargar incluso en tu ordenador y te da mucha flexibilidad porque lo puedes entrenar y imagina crearte tu propio modelo, con tus propios datos eso es el refinamiento no? Esto nos lo ofrece Lama.
Finalmente añadiría a Apple que no tiene su propio modelo pero es la empresa que más a invertido en IA inteligencia Artificial, no tiene producto aún pero probáblemente esto cambiara en los próximos meses estoy convencido de ello.
Finalmente twiter a creado su propio monedero que es Gross que saldrá el mes que viene según el loma va ser incluso más potente que ChatGPT.
Estamos viendo que el mercado se está inundando de modelo cada vez más potente la competencia hace que se avance a una velocidad que nunca hemos visto.
Próximamente veremos GPT5 el cambio será brutal en cuanto antes nos pongamos a aprender sobre ellos mejor podremos ir procesando las mejoras que va a ver constantemente.
Cuando hablamos de inteligencia Artificial, hablamos de: Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Amazon.
